Mission of Westminster Woods

A Christian camp and retreat center dedicated to the glory of God; providing year-round facilities for recreation, WORSHIP, and spiritual growth.

The current chapel is too small and inadequate for today's needs.

What is the need?

• To persevere with God's mission for Westminster Woods, we need your help in the development of a new chapel!
• Does not accommodate the significant growth of youth and adult programs
• Only seats 60 people
• Shows significant signs of deterioration
• Not adequate for today's technological needs

What is the solution?

To build a new chapel that will provide the following:

• Seating for 200
• Room for large camp groups
• Setting for weddings
• Place for special events
• Updated technology for audio/visual presentations

How you can help...

Our financial goal is to raise $450,000.

We have the funds to start the building building process in the fall of 2009. Kelly's uncle Kenton, along with Hutton Construction are in the process of finalizing construction plans. Groundbreaking has taken place while the camp committee had their retreat at the woods. It was an intimate group which included both members of the fundraising and camp committees.

A building committee has been formed and will begin meeting. Everyone is excited about the continued mission and future success of Westminster Woods which provides year round facilities for recreation, worship and spiritual growth through the glory of God. It is exciting to know that chapel maybe be ready for camp next summe with plans to have the Chapel dedication in May of 2010.

Although the money is rasied for the structure and an endowment to maintain the building in the future, there is still a need for furnishings. If you would like to help with this endeavor, you may donate to the Westminster Woods Chapel fund. Your continued prayers for the build are also appreciated.

We will let you know when the dedication of the chapel will take place. Thank you for your help and prayers throughout this past few years. We will be posting images of the building as it takes place here and on the Westminster Woods site as well.
